How many acres or miles is The Tsukiji Fish Market?
Hello! I am Takao. ^^
Do you know Tokyo Tsukiji fish market?
It’s the most popular and biggest market in Japan.
The size is about 56.58 acres!
There are two distinct sections of the market as a whole. The “inner market” (jōnai-shijō) is the licensed wholesale market, where approximately 900 licensed wholesale dealers operate small stalls and where the auctions and most of the processing of the fish take place.
The “outer market” (jōgai-shijō) is a mixture of wholesale and retail shops that sell Japanese kitchen tools, restaurant supplies, groceries, and seafood, and many restaurants, especially sushi restaurants.
Finally the market will be postponed to move “Toyosu”, because the Tokyo Metropolitan Government can’t confirm Toyosu is safety.
So the market has been done business in Tsukiji for a while.
